Shelby Harayda is the Director of Human Resources at Delta Railroad Services where she oversees all functions of HR — including developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives that align with the overall business growth strategy.
On an ongoing basis, Shelby manages the full-life cycle of employee recruitment, retention, relations, benefits, and compensation, training, development, and more.
Shelby's deep expertise fostering a positive and productive work environment has led to the attraction, development, and retention of top tier talent that contribute to a positive work culture. Shelby brings over 15 years of HR experience to Delta Railroad Services where she has held several senior-level HR positions across industries.
Shelby holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Media Studies with Minor in English from Penn State University, and a post-Baccalaureate Advanced Certificate in Human Resources Management from Mercyhurst University. She is also an active member of the Society for Human Resource Management.
A native of Erie, PA, Shelby currently lives in East Springfield, PA with her husband Jon and their two children, Laura and Matthew.
When Shelby is not working, she enjoys spending time outdoors, watching her son on the football field, and supporting her daughter as a coach on her cheerleading team. She also loves caring for their many pets, including two cats, a bunny, and a family of ducks.
